Every user needs:
1 License + 1 Permission Set
- The license decides what type of access they get.
- The permission set controls what they can actually do inside Tableau Next.
- Some roles also require a Data Cloud license (Data Cloud Architect or Data Cloud User).
Tableau Next Licenses
1️⃣ Creator License
- Full access
- Can configure Tableau Next
- Can assign users and manage permissions
- Best for Admins & Analysts
2️⃣ Consumer License
- View dashboards and assets
- Can follow and create metrics
3️⃣ Limited Consumer License
- View-only access to Intelligent Apps
4️⃣ Included App License
- View pre-built or template-based analytics apps
Main Permission Sets
🔹 Tableau Next Admin
- Full control
- Manage users, workspaces, dashboards
- Required License: Creator
- Data Cloud: Architect
🔹 Platform Analyst
- Edit and manage their own shared assets
- Required License: Creator
- Data Cloud: Architect
🔹 Self-Service Analyst
- Edit in Personal Org
- View in Production
- Required License: Creator
- Data Cloud: User
🔹 Self-Service Consumer
- View and interact with dashboards
- Required License: Creator
- Data Cloud: User
🔹 Consumer
- View-only access in Tableau Next Studio
- Required License: Consumer
- Data Cloud: User
🔹 Limited Consumer
- View embedded Intelligent Apps only
- No Studio access
- Required License: Limited Consumer
- Data Cloud: User

- View template-based apps only
- No Studio access
- Required License: Included App
- Data Cloud: User
- Admin & Analysts → Creator License
- View-only users → Consumer or Limited Consumer
